This 12 inch statue of St. Pio of Pietrelcina shows him with his hands clasped in prayer. He has a rosary in his belt and he is wearing black gloves with which he covered the Wounds of Christ in his hands. The base has a gold plaque which reads "Padre Pio". This statue is hand-painted. St. Pio lived from 1887 - 1968. He was a member of the Franciscan Capuchins. He was blessed to carry the Stigmata, the Five Wounds of Christ, on his person. He became very well-known throughout the world as a miracle-worker and confessor. He is the patron saint of unborn children, civil defense volunteers and meningitis.
