This sterling silver St. Agnes medallion is 3/4" X 1/2", is encased in a beautiful box and has a Rhodium, llite curb chain. It shows St. Agnes holding a lily and a lamb in her arms. She was turned in as a Christian to the Roman authorities by a rejected suitor who was angry that she would not marry him and wanted revenge. When she was martyred, she was only twelve or thirteen, so she is a great example of courage in the face of mortal danger for young girls. For this reason, she is the patron saint of Girl Scouts, and so this St. Agnes medal is a great gift for girls who are members of that organization.
